Standards bodies like ISO/IEC and NIST provide methodologies for fairness testing and documentation.
Fairness is not only a technical property but also a societal obligation. Addressing fairness through AI assurance helps prevent harm, reduce discrimination, and promote inclusive and responsible technology adoption. It also supports organisational trust, reputational integrity, and regulatory compliance.
